How a tontine works
In a tontine (ROSCA), each member pays a fixed contribution every round. Each round the whole pot goes to one member, in turn, until everyone has received it once. It's interest-free group saving and credit: early receivers get an interest-free loan, late receivers a savings plan. Over the cycle each member pays and receives the same total.

Frequently asked questions
Does a tontine make money?
No, it’s not an investment: each member gets back exactly what they put in. The benefit is forced saving and interest-free credit for those who receive early.
How is the payout order decided?
Usually by draw or group agreement. Receiving early is like an interest-free loan; receiving late is like a savings plan.
What if a member stops paying?
That’s the main risk: a tontine runs on trust. A member who has already received and then stops contributing hurts the whole group — so choose reliable members.
How is the pot calculated?
Pot per round = contribution × number of members. With 10 members at 5,000 each, the pot is 50,000 per round.
Does everyone receive the same amount?
Yes — each member receives the full pot once, and pays the same total over the cycle. The only difference is timing (early vs late turn).
