Result = value × (from N·m ÷ to N·m)

Torque is a twisting force: a force applied at a distance from a pivot. Its SI unit is the newton-metre, and every other unit here converts through it — pound-feet, pound-inches and the older kilogram-force metre. The key equivalences: 1 N·m = 0.738 lb·ft, so 100 N·m ≈ 74 lb·ft; and 1 kgf·m = 9.807 N·m, since it is the torque from one kilogram of weight at one metre. Note that lb·ft and ft·lb mean the same thing — the order is a stylistic habit, not a different quantity. Do not confuse torque with power. Torque is how hard something twists, power is how fast it does work, and an engine's specification lists both because they peak at different revolutions. Bolt specifications, on the other hand, are always torque: they define exactly how tight is tight enough.
